The London Company is seeking a Data Analyst with analytics, engineering and visualization experience and/or extensive relevant coursework at an undergraduate or graduate level. In this role, the successful candidate will leverage and evolve existing trading data infrastructure to build data perspectives that increase transparency and enhance decision making on the trading desk. The individual will report to the Director of Trading, and can expect to work closely with all members of the trading desk and the Head of Business Applications and Technology.
Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with the Director of Trading to develop, implement and maintain TLC trading analytics architecture to enable best execution and optimize costs across the trading lifecycle

Gain a technical understanding of transaction cost analysis (TCA), including relevant cost models, benchmarks, data structures, means of access and limitations

Build effective working relationships with London’s TCA vendors to fully leverage existing capabilities and integrate relevant future enhancements as needed

Leverage data analytics and Tableau to quantify and increase transparency into execution outcomes. Create custom reports, visualizations and interactive dashboards to effectively convey trading costs, risks and opportunities and provide insights on how the desk can optimize overall execution in alignment with investment team objectives

Work collaboratively with the Head of Business Applications and Technology to provide data engineering and visualization support to other departments within the firm, as needed

Measure and evaluate daily production activities to identify opportunities for enhanced workflow efficiencies, improved risk management and increased desk capacity

Expand trading analytics availability to related applications (capacity analysis, liquidity risk analytics, alpha profiling, optimization of order sizing/timing, trader alpha ranking) through extraction, normalization and standardization of projected and actual historical implementation cost data from TCA vendors into London’s data warehouse

Assist in process transformation from manual/excel-driven procedures to automated, risk-controlled workflows

Develop and implement data quality checks in alignment with business requirements

Serve as a member of the Firm’s data team to work collaboratively on data governance and best practices, projects and other needs relating to Firm’s data warehouse and Tableau reports/dashboards outside of Trading. These may include query running, root cause analysis, data validations and/or serving as an ETL (Informatica) backup.

Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Quantitative Finance or adjacent major and/or extensive coursework in data science and visualization, or relevant prior (2+ years preferred) ETL, analytics and visualization experience utilizing Python, SQL and Tableau
- Experience leveraging Python libraries and Requests module for data extraction, analytics, visualization
- Exceptional logical reasoning, analytical skills and a strong interest in leveraging technology in a data-driven framework
- Self-starter with the ability to innovate through creative and lateral thinking
- Passion and intellectual curiosity for data/analytics reporting within the investment industry
- Strong work ethic, ability to self-motivate, prioritize and multi-task under deadlines while maintaining accuracy and poise
- Superior communications and interpersonal skills with proven ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic small team environment
- High ethical standards and the ability to identify and rectify weaknesses in workflows and processes
- Attention to detail, accuracy and pride in work produced
- Open-minded, inclusive and respectful of diverse viewpoints and backgrounds
- Familiarity with US equity market structure, trade management system(s) is a plus
